In this role, you will play an essential part in maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors across the university campus. Your day-to-day responsibilities will naturally align with standard campus security practices and operational requirements.
Key responsibilities for the University Security Officer position include:
- Conducting regular patrols of campus buildings, grounds, and facilities to deter unauthorized access and ensure physical security
- Responding promptly to incidents, emergencies, and calls for assistance from the university community
- Monitoring security systems, access control points, and CCTV feeds as required
- Interacting professionally with students, staff, and the public to provide directions, information, and general assistance
- Preparing accurate and detailed incident reports and shift logs
- Enforcing university security policies, parking regulations, and safety procedures
To be successful in this role, candidates must possess a strong customer service mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain calm and professional in dynamic or high-pressure situations. A valid security license and relevant industry compliance credentials required for working in Victoria are essential for this position.
