Springfield Behavioral of Pennsylvania and J. Snyder Therapeutic Services, part of the Optum family of businesses, are seeking a dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our team in King of Prussia, PA. As an integral part of the Optum Behavioral Care team, you will contribute to our vision of making healthcare better for everyone by providing compassionate, high-quality care to a diverse patient population.
In this role, you will enjoy a hybrid work schedule requiring a minimum of two to three days in the office. We provide robust organizational, clinical, and business support—from credentialing to contracting—so you can maintain your focus entirely on patient care. You will treat a wide variety of mental health conditions while collaborating with fellow clinicians and referral sources.
Primary responsibilities for this position include:
- Utilizing evidence-based screening tools and diagnostic criteria to formulate comprehensive treatment plans
- Collaborating closely with clinicians to provide supportive care to shared patients
- Communicating effectively with referral sources such as physicians, schools, and higher levels of care
- Prescribing and managing psychotropic medications per established protocols, monitoring efficacy, and adjusting treatment plans to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records and clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements
Required qualifications for applicants:
- Clear, active, and unrestricted PMHNP license in the state of Pennsylvania, or the ability to attain one
- Board certification as a PMHNP-BC by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), or eligibility for board certification
- Active DEA registration
- Three or more years of clinical experience in psychiatric and mental health nursing within an outpatient setting
Preferred qualifications include experience providing patient education regarding medication adherence, working across diverse age groups from children to geriatrics, and utilizing electronic health record systems such as Athena RMS.
