Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, MA, is seeking an experienced nursing professional for the position of RN Director Psych. As the RN Director Psych, you will provide critical leadership and support to the Chief Nursing Officer, assuming 24/7 responsibility for assigned psychiatric nursing areas. You will assist in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practice on a multi-unit level to ensure safe, high-quality patient care and effective resource management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing comprehensive leadership, oversight, and operational management for designated psychiatric patient care units.
- Ensuring clinical staff competency and upholding high standards of professional nursing practice.
- Collaborating with executive leadership to support hospital-wide nursing and patient care initiatives.
- Acting as a role model and advocate for the nursing profession with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Qualifications and requirements for this role:
- Active and current Registered Nurse license in the state of Massachusetts (or state of practice).
- Required Education: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), OR an Associate degree from an accredited nursing school combined with a Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field, OR a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Required Experience: Minimum of 5 years of psychiatric nursing leadership experience.
- Required Certifications: Current professional licensure/certification as required by law and CPR certification.
- Compliance with applicable pre-employment screening, background checks, and health requirements, including drug screening and workforce vaccination standards.
