Masonicare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursing Assistant to join our team for the evening shift at Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford, CT. This part-time position is scheduled for 24 hours per week and works every other weekend, located specifically on our state-of-the-art, 50-bed Behavioral Health and Acute Psych Unit.
In this role, you will play an essential part in the patient care team, performing basic nursing care procedures under the direction and supervision of a licensed nurse. You will be responsible for following individualized treatment plans tailored to meet the appropriate age, needs, and abilities of each patient on the unit.
Key responsibilities and daily duties for this position typically include:
- Assisting residents and patients with daily meals and nourishments.
- Performing safe transfers using proper body mechanics and appropriate assistive devices.
- Assisting patients with ambulation throughout the unit.
- Providing personal care support, including bathing, toileting, dressing, and grooming.
- Observing patients and communicating any changes in behavior or condition to the licensed nursing staff.
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and supportive environment focused on behavioral health and recovery.
To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Current certification as a Nurse’s Aide (C.N.A.) in the State of Connecticut.
- Current CPR certification.
