About the Role: The Uber Eats User Experience Research Team is hiring experienced professionals to help fulfill our mission of deeply understanding people and context to define the future of Uber Eats. Our Research Team informs and influences important product decisions with exceptional insights about people, technology, and services. In the role of Sr UX Researcher – Consumer Growth, you will shape the product vision of our Consumer Growth pillar, which is responsible for driving growth for critical user segments by designing innovative approaches to acquire and retain customers in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
What You Will Do:
- Lead end-to-end foundational and evaluative research, pioneering and adapting new frameworks for unique product challenges.
- Identify and drive high-impact, cross-vertical research that shapes product roadmaps and business decisions at program and portfolio levels.
- Act as a strategic consultant to Product, Design, Engineering, Data Science, and Operations, ensuring the user’s voice guides our long-term vision.
- Synthesize complex data into compelling, actionable narratives that cultivate user empathy and drive decisive business action across the organization.
- Collaborate with regional hubs to scale insights worldwide, capturing local market nuances while maintaining a cohesive global product strategy.
- Provide research leadership and mentorship, reviewing work and setting a high bar for quality and rigor across the UXR community.
- Balance immediate product needs with long-term business sustainability in a fast-paced environment.
Basic Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in HCI, Psychology, Computer Science, Design, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of professional experience in UX Research, featuring a portfolio showcasing mid-to-large scale projects.
- Deep expertise in qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods, with a nuanced understanding of when to apply each for maximum impact.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate findings concisely and persuasively to diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with consumer products and conducting international research for global impact.
- Focus on strategic research with a strong understanding of strengths and weaknesses across various research methods and product phases.
Compensation and Benefits: For New York, NY and San Francisco, CA-based roles, the base salary range is USD$180,000 to USD$200,000 per year. For all US locations, employees are eligible to participate in the company bonus program, and may be offered an equity award and other compensation types. Full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan and various other benefits.
