As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will perform treatments and provide exercise instruction and patient education aimed at improving and enhancing patient well-being while following the established plan of care.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Follow all state-specific laws governing the provision of physical therapy in home care, adhering strictly to the treatment plan defined by the supervising Physical Therapist and performing only procedures you are qualified and trained to handle.
• Instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercise, muscle re-education, gait, functional activities, ADLs, transfers, safety, and prosthetic training.
• Observe, record, and report the patient’s response to treatment and any changes in condition to the supervising PT, nurse supervisor, and/or physician, coordinating care with other healthcare team members as appropriate.
• Instruct patients, families, caregivers, and other members of the healthcare team in areas of therapy within the defined scope of a physical therapy assistant.

Required Qualifications:

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in the state of practice.
• Current CPR certification.
• Current driver’s license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or reliable transportation.
• Ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client.
• Availability to work a weekend rotation.
• Ability to perform physical tasks required for patient care, including lifting, transferring, and assisting with mobility.

Compensation and Benefits:

• The hourly pay for this role ranges from $23.41 to $41.83 per hour based on full-time employment, with exact pay determined by factors such as local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.
