Halfords is currently seeking a passionate and customer-focused Cycle Technician to join the team on a part-time basis in Rickerby, Carlisle. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering market-leading standards of cycle service and repair. You will work on a wide variety of bicycles, ranging from kids’ and adult bikes to premium, performance, and electric cycles, ensuring every machine is safe, reliable, and ready to ride. By combining your technical know-how with your dedication to customer satisfaction, you will help wow every customer who walks through the door.
Key responsibilities in this role typically include:
- Carrying out routine servicing, safety checks, and complex repairs on a diverse range of cycles.
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues accurately and efficiently.
- Communicating clearly with customers to explain necessary repairs, recommendations, and service options.
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized workshop environment.
- Ensuring all work is completed to the highest possible safety and quality standards.
To be successful, you will bring a genuine passion for cycling along with some foundational technical skills in cycle maintenance and repair. While you will receive support to develop your abilities further, your enthusiasm for bikes and your ability to connect positively with customers will be the driving force behind your success.
This part-time position offers a competitive hourly pay rate depending on age: £13.11 per hour for applicants aged 21 and over, and £11.25 per hour for applicants under 21, translating to an annual equivalent of approximately £23,400 to £27,268 per year.
