The Australian Nursing Federation – Industrial Union of Workers Perth (ANMF WA) is seeking a dedicated Lead – Communications to join our team in the Perth CBD. This is a part-time opportunity to help advance the working conditions, member wellbeing, and healthcare advocacy that our organisation has championed for more than a century.
In this role, you will play a vital part in shaping and delivering strategic communications that support nurses, midwives, and their patients across Western Australia. You will collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure clear, impactful messaging across various channels, helping to amplify the collective voice of our members and advocate for a safer, more equitable health system.
Key responsibilities for the Lead – Communications typically include:
- Developing and implementing effective communication strategies and campaigns aligned with the union’s advocacy goals.
- Creating engaging content for digital, print, and social media platforms to reach and inform members.
- Managing media relations and drafting press releases, statements, and newsletters.
- Supporting internal communications and member engagement initiatives.
- Monitoring communication trends and evaluating the effectiveness of campaigns.
To be successful in this role, you will bring strong communication expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a genuine passion for supporting the nursing and midwifery professions. A background in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field within an advocacy, union, or non-profit environment is highly regarded.
