Xero is looking for a dedicated Senior Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis in Sydney, Sydney Region. In this exciting role within the Internal AI Accelerator Squad, you will be at the forefront of Xero’s transformation into an AI-native company.
As a forward-deployed engineer, you will have the opportunity to embed yourself within various internal business teams to co-design and operationalise agentic AI workflows. Your primary focus will be on building solutions that remove manual toil and fundamentally reshape how our people work from end to end.
Your responsibilities and impact in this role will include:
- Acting as a technical bridge between the AI Accelerator Squad and internal business units to identify workflow improvement opportunities.
- Co-designing, developing, and operationalising agentic AI workflows tailored to specific operational needs.
- Leading the end-to-end delivery of high-stakes AI agents, guiding projects seamlessly from initial discovery through to deployment.
- Writing clean, scalable, and maintainable code that integrates smoothly into Xero’s internal ecosystem.
- Collaborating closely with cross-functional team members to ensure AI solutions effectively reduce manual toil and improve daily productivity.
