Glencore Coal is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our team as a CHPP Maintenance Superintendent on a full-time basis in Australia. You will be based at our Mt Owen/Glendell Operations (MGO), an established open cut mining operation situated within the Hunter Coalfields at Hebden in the Upper Hunter Valley of New South Wales. MGO utilizes standard truck and excavator mining methods to produce thermal and semi-soft coking coal, which is predominantly exported for domestic power generation and steel production around the world.
As the CHPP Maintenance Superintendent, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing the maintenance activities associated with our Coal Handling and Preparation Plant. Your expertise will directly support our operational efficiency and safety standards.
Key responsibilities typically associated with this role include:
- Managing and leading the CHPP maintenance team to ensure high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
- Developing, implementing, and reviewing proactive maintenance schedules and strategies for plant equipment.
- Monitoring asset health, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and coordinating effective repairs.
- Managing maintenance budgets, contractor relationships, and parts inventory.
- Ensuring all work complies with relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations and company policies.
- Fostering a collaborative team culture focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
