The NSW Government is seeking dedicated professionals to join the Bankstown Community Mental Health Emergency Team as a Community Mental Health Professional on a permanent part-time basis, working 24 hours per week. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of an established mental health pool based at Bankstown Community Mental Health, contributing to vital healthcare services in Australia.
We welcome applications from qualified Registered Nurses, Psychologists, Social Workers (Level 1-2), and Occupational Therapists (Level 1-2). In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive mental health assessments, crisis intervention, and evidence-based support to individuals and families experiencing acute mental health challenges. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centred care, coordinate treatment plans, and liaise with relevant community and hospital services to ensure the best possible health outcomes for our clients.
Key responsibilities for this position typically include:
- Conducting thorough clinical assessments and mental health triage for individuals presenting in crisis.
- Developing, implementing, and reviewing individualised care plans in partnership with clients and their support networks.
- Providing timely and effective crisis intervention, counselling, and ongoing case management support.
- Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary team members, medical staff, and external agencies to coordinate safe and effective care pathways.
- Maintaining accurate, confidential, and up-to-date clinical documentation in accordance with relevant health guidelines and policies.
- Advocating for the rights and needs of mental health consumers while promoting recovery-oriented practice.
The remuneration for this role ranges from A$74,317 to A$117,755 per year, with the exact hourly rate dependent on your specific professional qualification and level (ranging from approximately $37.48 to $59.38 per hour). In addition to the base salary, all roles attract 12% Superannuation and the benefits of salary packaging. Applications close on 31/05/2026.
