Masonicare at Mystic is seeking a dedicated Memory Care Aide for the night shift at our assisted living community in Mystic, CT. This is a part-time position scheduled for 24 hours per week, working every other weekend. Please note that the official title for this role is Residential Care Assistant. As a Certified Nursing Assistant on our team, you will play a vital role in supporting our residents through compassionate, person-centered care designed to maximize their independence, freedom of choice, and overall quality of life.
Your essential duties and responsibilities in this night shift role will include the following:
- Providing assistance with essential activities of daily living and personal care based on each resident’s individual needs and abilities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, ambulating, toileting, and proper transfers using correct body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Assisting residents with instrumental activities of daily living, such as light housekeeping tasks, bed making, laundry coordination, and mail assistance.
- Assisting residents with the self-administration of medications through cueing only.
- Observing and reporting changes in residents’ physical condition and cognitive or emotional status to the ALSA Supervisor or Director of Assisted Living Services.
- Conducting routine room checks during resident rounds, monitoring for environmental safety hazards, and accurately recording incidents, accidents, and daily events.
- Assisting with dining-related tasks, including escorts, meal setup, serving, and cleanup, as well as supporting the resident-centered activity program.
- Maintaining complete and accurate written documentation concerning resident care throughout your shift while acting as a resident advocate and ambassador to guests and visitors.
- Upholding agency policies regarding confidentiality and communicating tactfully and diplomatically in sensitive or emotionally charged situations.
