As an Occupational Therapist in Home Health, you will play a vital role in the assessment and evaluation of patient care needs related to functional status, activities of daily living, fine motor coordination, home assessments, adaptive equipment, and other therapy requirements defined by medical conditions. Primary responsibilities for this role include:
- Providing services within your professional scope of practice, adhering to state laws, the established plan of care, evidence-based techniques, and interdisciplinary team coordination
- Evaluating patient functional status, body systems required for CMS documentation, and specific occupational therapy needs while consulting with physicians on care plans
- Observing, recording, and reporting patient responses to treatment and condition changes to the nurse supervisor and physician
- Conducting comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate functional levels through diagnostic and prognostic ability tests
Required qualifications for this position:
- Current Occupational Therapy licensure in the state of practice
- Current CPR certification
- Current driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and dependable transportation or reliable public transit access
- Ability to successfully function in any home situation regardless of client age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition
Preferred qualifications include a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, work independently, and exhibit strong communication, writing, and organizational skills.
Pay is determined by several factors, including local labor markets, education, work experience, and relevant certifications. The hourly pay for this role ranges from $34.23 to $61.15 per hour based on full-time employment.
