We are currently seeking a dedicated Sr. Specialist, Systems Engineering to join our team in Yorba Linda, CA. This position offers a flexible 4/10 schedule or is open to a 9/80 schedule.
In this role, you will work independently to set objectives for your job area, communicating with internal and external contacts to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures. Your daily work will consist of making adjustments to systems and processes to solve problems, drawing from prior experiences, standard procedures, and basic analysis to achieve operational targets.
Essential functions for the Sr. Specialist, Systems Engineering include:
- Supporting digital engineering and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Conducting trade studies and generating requirements specifications
- Producing functional block diagrams, use-case diagrams, and related documentation
- Planning integration and testing, including the generation of formal plans and procedures
- Interfacing with mechanical, project, and other engineering disciplines to ensure proper coordination of system aspects
- Generating and updating drawings, parts lists, Engineering Orders, wiring lists, diagrams, and schematics
- Creating Engineering Change Orders and designing review materials
- Verifying system interfaces and fulfilling travel requirements as needed
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet one of the following educational and experience requirements: a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience; a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience; or a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree. Candidates must also possess at least 5 years of direct engineering experience and have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Preferred additional skills that will help you succeed in this role include:
- Direct experience with Underwater Acoustics, Telemetry, Communications, Data Recording systems, and/or Radar
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated initiative, drive, and interpersonal capabilities
- Familiarity with DOORS requirements management software and MBSE frameworks
- Proficiency with standard office software including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
